“Learning Science from Hollywood Movies”

“Learning Science from Hollywood Movies”

HKAAST and CPDC would like to launch a series again as a contribution to the science education for our secondary students (F.4-F.7). We aim to build up students’ persistent interest in different disciplines of natural science and technology and evoked their potential talent of science though three talks which are held in three Saturday morning. The students can increase latest science knowledge by watching popular Hollywood movie and a tutor will also help and answer their questions.   

All the students can enjoy the talks with free of charge and also an attendance certificated after their participants. For the student who have join a series of talks, they can awarded an additional certificate of科技雛聲" through the Principal. Student who are able to accompany with one parents with entrance fee $100 per talks. The attendance certificated will also issue to the parent.

Abstract of Speakers’ Profile
 

Ir Dr. W.L. Chan, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Dr. W. L. Chan received his BSc(Eng) and MPhil degree from University of Hong Kong, in 1988 and 1993 respectively. He then received his Ph.D. degree from City University London in 2000. He is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a senior member of the IEEE. He is also a committee member of the Joint Chapter of PES/IAS/PELS/IE, IEEE Hong Kong Section and the General Secretary of the IAEE (HK-China Branch).

Ir Dr. Albert So, Asian Institute of Built Environment
Dr. Albert So received his BSc(Eng), MPhil and PhD from The University of Hong Kong, an electrical engineer by profession.  He founded Hong Kong Institute of Ufology, now Vice Chairman of her, and has been an Executive Committee Member of HKUFO Club.  He is now Director of Asian Institute of Built Environment and Honorary Associate Professor of The University of Hong Kong.  He is also a Council Member of Hong Kong Association of Advancement in Science and Technology.
